Innovations
'Innovations' and Knowledge Transfer Networks are initiatives of the
Technology Strategy Board
a group set up to encourage investment in programmes and projects - much of their work is in
spreading knowledge, understanding policy, spotting opportunities and bringing people together
to solve problems or make new advances.
Knowledge Transfer Network
There are currently 23 KTNs with a membership of around 30,000. Of particular interest are the
following two groups :-
Chemistry Innovation is a publicly funded Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) set up in 2006
to drive innovation performance across the UK chemistry-using industries.
The objective of the Environmental Knowledge Transfer Network is to improve the
competitiveness of UK environmental industries in key priority areas.
